Understanding Denim Characteristics |
At Kojima Jeans, we offer a variety of denim options such as 15oz selvedge denim, 19oz selvedge denim, 21oz denim, and 23oz selvedge denim. You can choose your preferred silhouette for each weight. Additionally, denim jackets are available in all weights, allowing you to enjoy wearing them as a complete set. |
Basic Denim Care Instructions |
Turn your jeans inside out before washing. Regular laundry detergents often contain brightening agents, so we recommend using denim-specific detergents. After washing, ensure thorough dehydration, stretch them out while inside out to prevent wrinkles and creases, and dry them in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight. Using S-hooks to hang jeans in a cylindrical shape (similar to how they are worn) helps reduce unnecessary creases and wrinkles. |
Steps for Caring for Raw & Unsanforized Denim |
For raw denim and sanforized denim, we recommend a first wash before use. Turn the denim inside out and submerge it in lukewarm water until fully soaked. Gently rub to ensure water penetrates the fabric, and let it sit for 1–2 hours. Drain the water and rinse without using detergent (a washing machine can also be used). Wash individually to prevent color transfer. Be aware that indigo may transfer onto the washing drum. After rinsing, dehydrate thoroughly, and hang dry inside out in the shade. Take care to stretch and shape the jeans properly to avoid unnecessary wrinkles and creases during drying. |
Detailed Washing Guidelines |
Use detergents without fluorescent brightening agents for washing jeans and work pants. Denim-specific detergents minimize color fading during washing. Avoid using a tumble dryer for drying. Instead, reshape the garment and dry it in the shade. Smooth out wrinkles and hang the jeans in a shape close to their worn form for better results. Drying with wrinkles or creases can affect the fit and future fading. |
Long-Term Care and Storage Tips |
If you don’t plan to use your jeans for an extended period, wash them beforehand, and avoid direct sunlight during storage. Ensure the jeans are wrinkle-free and store them with a desiccant to maintain their condition. |
